As promised in my Art Car Parade (Part 1) post, this is the second installment covering the Art Car Parade that my husband and I went to on Saturday, April 16, 2016. Here are some more of the wonderfully whimsical vehicles that we saw in the parade.
Don Burro y Gauchito by John Lea
The front of the Gauchito trailer
The Roachster by Kenny Browning & Noah Edmundson.
Phantoms by W. T. Burge
Spoonazoid by Mark Bradford
If you look closely, you will see that Spooonazoid’s “scales” ARE actually metal spoons!
Rat Way – Artist Unknown
Heroes by Isaac Cohen
Big Catch – Artist Unknown
The Char Car by Mark Bradford who also did Spoonazoid
After the parade, several of the entries were parked so you could get a closer look and better pictures.
Star Car by Mark Bradford, entry number 3 from him
Amber Eagle was very friendly and was posing for photos with her Our Lady of Transportation entry.
A closer view of the Map of Time and Space entry from Rebecca Lowe
A closer view of the Echo Muerte entry by Kristie Odom
This concludes Part 2 of my video essay of the Art Car Parade. Next, I will present Art Car Parade (Part 3) which will focus on the beauty and artwork of the classic cars and low rider entries.
Those cars are AMAZING. I HAVE to go back to part 1 and follow to part 3. People sure are creative!

I have been excited to see what other cars were going to be here since the first post. I think the roach one is my favorite this time. I am amazed that people work so hard of their cars to be a part of it!

So weird and wonderful! The last one is probably my favorite. It’s the sugar skulls!

This is very cool. I didn’t know there was a parade like this. I also love the last one the best. Who could resist sugar skulls on a car!

I love seeing things like that! Those are so creative. The roachster made me laugh!

This is brilliant! There’s nothing like that over here. The jet is incredible and the roachster gave me a chuckle

“Born To Be Wild, Part 2” – especially with how colorful those last two or so cars are – that’s what they remind me of 🙂

Actually, the last two photos are of cars that I had shown in Part 1. I was just able to get a close-up from a different angle after the parade. 🙂

The Char Car is a strangely looking car (?) I don’t see any wheels, how does it move?

I agree that The Char Car is definitely one of the most odd-looking entries. It does have wheels. Since I took the photo of it more straight on, the wheels are not as easily recognized. However, if you look closely at the left side of the photo, you will see a very large metal wheel. It very much reminds me of the old-fashioned wagons wheels, but made of metal and much larger! The wheels are quite large, standing over 7 feet tall!

Wow this is absolutely incredible! I had no idea that people had such interesting cars. My favourite/the most frightening is the one with phantoms!

So many interesting vehicles/art projects! My dad would have loved to attend something like this. I have never heard of this around here where I live.

This was not in Austin. This parade was in Victoria, the city where I live. Austin is about 150 miles NorthWest of here and Corpus Christi is about 100 miles South of here. San Antonio and Houston are both about 135 miles from here.

These cars are so cool! Some a little odd but very cool! My fave would be the our lady of transportation car. I don’t know what it is but I kept going back to look it over a few times. Very inventive and unique. Where was this parade? I’m going to have to go to the first post to start from the beginning!

This parade was held in the city where I live, in Texas. The original parade is held in Houston where they just had their 29th annual Art Car Parade the weekend before the parade was here. Victoria has only had an Art Car Parade for 5 years. 🙂

Brilliant! So original and unique! Unfortunately, I live on such a small island, that we do not have these kind of activities! People who have this kind of creativity will do great things.
